What to Grow in the Garden this December!

Hi Garden Friend,

Can you believe December is here?!? This year has flown by.

We are still experiencing mild weather here in Central Texas and if you live in a more mild climate then you will definitely want to check out what you can grow this month.

Garden Tasks for this month:

  1. Shop seeds for next year. My favorite places to buy seeds are Renee's Garden and Botanical Interest.
  2. Clean out dead debris from garden beds. Add layer of compost to help renew beds and keep existing plants a bit more insulated.
  3. Water less. If you have drip irrigation on a timer, this is the time of year that you don't need to run it is as much. Check on your garden every 3 days or so to see if it needs watered.
  4. Give yourself a break from the garden if you need one. For those of us who live in year around growing climates sometimes we just need a break from the garden. Your garden will be waiting for you when you are ready.
