What to Grow in June in the Garden

Hi Garden Friend,

Summer's Here! Time to Swap Those Struggling Plants

We are heading into hot season and that means your warm season plants are finishing up and maybe aren't looking so good. If you have struggling plants, it's time to pull and replace them with plants that will do well this time of year.

Look at my What to Grow in June in Central, TX guide (or anywhere it's hot 😂) to help you decide what to plant next.

Your goal for the summer is to keep your soil covered with plants and not letting it bake in the sun. Great plants to help do this are black-eyed peas or sweet potatoes. They love the heat and provide lush green foliage even when it's 100° outside.

Don't Forget to Hydrate!

Hi Garden Friend! One thing I’ve learned after years of installing and planting gardens is that vegetables grow better when flowers are part of the plan. Flowers attract pollinators, bring beneficial insects into the garden, and honestly just make the whole space more enjoyable to spend time in.
